Katie Powers (Maples) is a healthcare and business strategy professional with Empowered Endings and Empowered Palliative Care, where she helps connect patients and families with compassionate, whole-person care that supports dignity and informed choice during serious illness. She also serves as Chair of the San Diego Dementia Consortium, working to strengthen collaboration and education across the dementia care community.
Katie’s perspective is both professional and personal. Her mother lives with frontotemporal dementia, an experience that fuels her passion for supporting caregivers and improving how families navigate complex medical and emotional decisions.
She holds an MBA in Health Care Administration and Management, a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University.
