Dr. Bob Uslander is the Co-Founder and Medical Director of Empowered Palliative Care and Empowered Endings Medical Group, San Diego based practices that support patients and families through serious illness, aging, and end-of-life transitions, with a focus on whole-person care and quality of life.
A former Emergency Physician with 25 years of experience and over a decade in Palliative Care and Hospice medicine, Dr. Bob brings a unique perspective on the challenges and risks faced by individuals with dementia in the emergency department. His work centers on helping patients and families navigate complex medical decisions while promoting more compassionate, patient-centered alternatives to unnecessary hospital-based care.
Dr. Bob earned his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago.
